About Lang Biang mountain range
The Lang Biang mountain range, located in the Lac Duong district of Lam Dong province, is a popular destination for trekking enthusiasts. This mountain range reaches an altitude of 2167 meters and consists of two main mountains: Ba Mountain, precisely 2167 meters high, and Ong Mountain, slightly lower at 2124 meters. Another peak of Lang Biang is Ra-Da, rising to 1929 meters above sea level. With these three peaks, Lang Biang is nicknamed the roof of Da Lat.
The climate in Lang Biang
Influenced by the temperate alpine climate, Lang Biang experiences an average temperature of 25 Celsius. Temperatures gradually decrease as you climb up the peak, dropping 1 to 2 degrees for 100 meters of altitude. This thermal variation explains why Lang Biang is often shrouded in dense fog and clouds, making this mountain a favorite spot for cloud chasers in Vietnam.
Liang Biang is also renowned for its extremely diverse ecosystem. The region is home to lush vegetation and rare fauna, presenting visitors with the opportunity to admire a coniferous forest, a variety of shrubs, and vibrant orchids. This unique natural setting makes Lang Biang a veritable sanctuary for nature lovers and those keen on botanical and zoological discoveries.
An adventure through enchanting scenery
Ascending Lang Biang opens up an abundance of scenic landscapes, from dense forests to lush green meadows and limpid streams. Each step of the way reveals a new facet of Central Highland’s natural beauty. While photography enthusiasts will be delighted by the breathtaking panoramas, wildlife observers will be treated to a diversity of local species.
Being the highest mountain, as much as it is a sporting challenge, Lang Biang is also a cultural immersion. The surrounding ethnic villages, inhabited by the K’Ho and Lach groups, offer a wonderful insight into indigenous ways of life and traditions. After a day of physical challenge, Lang Biang's conqueror will have the chance to sample staple dishes and soak up the conviviality of the locals.
