Phu Quoc Airport is located 7 kilometres from Duong Dong Town, the capital of the island district of Phu Quoc. It is best to request reception at the airport through your hotel. Most hotels have their guests picked up by shuttle buses at the airport. Please note that some structures found in the centre of the town offer this service free of charge to travellers staying for 3 nights.
Express boat to Phu Quoc
Currently, the Super Dong company is the only one that offers express boats serving Phu Quoc island. Two routes are available to Phu Quoc, the first from Rach Gia town and the rest from Ha Tien, capital of Kien Giang province.
+ Rach Gia - Phu Quoc Boat (120km or 2h30)
+ Ha Tien - Phu Quoc Boat (45 km or 1h20)
Attention:
- For those who have difficulty in the sea, travelling by speed boat is not recommended.
- Note that there is a Ha Tien - Phu Quocferry which is commonly taken by locals. Capable of transporting motorbikes, buses and trucks, this fairly slow means with a speed of 22km/h is not a good choice for tourists.
- Bai Vong Port is 15km from Duong Dong Town. Taxis are available there for a price ranging between 13,000 and 15,000 VND/km. Contact a travel agency if you opt for a private car at an affordable cost.
