Located in Dak Nong province, bordering Dak Lak, Ta Dung Lake is a popular eco-tourism site in the Central Highlands. It is nicknamed “the Halong Bay of the Central Highlands”.

1. How to get to Ta Dung Lake?

Ta Dung has located about 280 km from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, about 160 km from Buon Me Thuot City and 150 km from Dalat. Gia Nghia is the closest city to Ta Dung Lake (about 40 km).

By plane

To go to the highlands, you can take a plane to Dalat, Buon Ma Thuot or Pleiku Airport. From here, you will need to take a bus or taxi to Ta Dung.

By bus

Some buses go directly from Dalat to Gia Nghia, with a possible stop at Ta Dung. In addition, all buses that run between Buon Me Thuot and Ho Chi Minh City also pass through Gia Nghia Town. They do not pass Ta Dung Lake, but from there, you can take a taxi or rent a motorbike to reach the lake, passing through picturesque landscapes and Lieng Nung Waterfall.

2. Ta Dung Nature Reserve

Ta Dung is a gigantic reservoir nestled in the heart of Ta Dung Nature Reserve, extending over 22,000 ha. This reservoir is an important source of water for the Dong Nai River system and powers several hydroelectric power stations. The latter, by damming the river, have shaped a spectacular artificial lake in the middle of the mountains of the Central Highlands. The peaks of the ancient hills and mountains now form islands standing proudly in the middle of the peaceful waters. 4. Best time to visit Ta Dung Lake

In general, you can visit Ta Dung Lake all year round. However, the best time to visit is from November to April. This is the dry season. It is ideal for outdoor activities.

5. Accommodation at Ta Dung Lake

Accommodation around Ta Dung Lake is limited. But Tadung Topview Homestay offers rooms starting at VND700,000 or double tents at VND300,000.
