Which hotels to stay at in Hoi An?
- on Sep 17, 2019 By: BN
To prepare a stay in the “Venice of Vietnam” which ideally would last three nights, where to stay in Hoi An is indisputably one of the questions you will have to ask. Do you have in mind a modern style room in the center of the city or a charming hotel nestled in a large forest or maybe a bungalow in front of the sea? We have compiled for you a good hotel address book in Hoi An for all tastes and budgets to help you have an unforgettable trip.
Unlike the hotels located in the old district of Hanoi or Saigon, the rooms in Hoi An have, for a large majority, a window with a pleasant view. There are a good number of view choices available to you according to your desires, overlooking gardens, streets, pool, sea, river and lake.
It should be noted that the 4 and 5-star hotels in Hoi An offer a cost equivalent to the 3 and 4-star hotels in Hanoi. You will find below suggestions of hotels in Hoi An compiled with the advice of our experts. We distinguish them in 3 types:
Vinh Hung Library Hotel, 3 stars
Only five minutes from the center of Hoi An is this boutique hotel appreciated for its refined décor rich in traditional handicrafts.
The rooms are quite small, from 20 to 25m2 with adequate amounts of comfort. The 10 luxury rooms have windows and terraces with good views and are well suited to couples and small families. The pool on the terrace is small. The space for breakfast - buffet style - is small too and the menu has a limited choice. Many books are available on the other hand.
Green Heaven Hoi An hotel, 3+ stars
Found at the start of the pedestrian street across the Thu Bon river, this hotel is ideally located close to many restaurants and shops. You are also just a few steps to the night market.
There are 75 rooms available with three different types, from 30 to 50m2. They all have different looks but still maintain a simple and modern style. The breakfast is of high quality with a varied delicious menu.
Our opinion: Classified as 4 stars and the structure is equivalent but in our opinion, it’s more fitted for 3 stars. The hotel is a good choice for a large group but not recommended for small groups requiring finesse.
Price: 45 to 100 USD per night (the price is better for a large group booking room and dinner).
Hotel Royal Hoi An – MGallery, 5 stars
A member of the Accor Group this MGallery hotel is the perfect choice to spend your stay at a star-rated establishment in the heart of Hoi An. There are not enough alternatives in the same rank. Only 10 minutes from the pedestrian street and night market of Hoi An this chic hotel offers a beautiful view of the Thu Bon River with a large swimming pool.
Breakfast: mixed menu with Asian and Western dishes, varying every day.
Our opinion: The staff is friendly, welcoming and speak English well. It should be noted that noise can be heard in the rooms facing the street, especially early in the morning and late at night.
Price: Changing over time, between 200 and 600 USD per night
Belle Maison Hadana, 3 stars
About 1km from the city center, its location is convenient for sightseeing and is about a 15-minute walk to the bustling night market.
Rooms from 32 to 50m2 all have views of the pool. The decoration is refined with taste. Regarding the breakfast, the quality menu offers Asian and Western dishes with a varied choice for adults and children.
Our opinion: The staff is welcoming and attentive. Basically, it is not really big enough and does not have a garden. It is more of a hotel than a resort although it is well qualified for its 3 stars.
Price: from 60 to 120 USD per night
Muca Hoi An Boutique Resort, 3 stars
At almost 5km from the city and in the heart of Cam Thanh village, this resort promises a quiet stay in one of the most beautiful gardens of Hoi An.
The 40 rooms available are sized from 25m2 to 30m2 and are furnished in 3-storey villas with French architecture overlooking the garden or river. A free bus is available at the hotel to go to the city center according to a schedule. Bikes are also available for free and allow you to explore the local village. There are two restaurants located on both sides of the pond surrounded by coconut palms.
Our opinion: A good place to connect with nature. The buffet is just ok and not very varied.
Price: from 45 to 90 USD per night
Phu Thinh Boutique Resort & Spa, 3 stars
Situated at Cua Dai street toward the Cua Dai sea and 2km from the city center, the structure is more fitted for its 3 stars and not the 4 stars as in some advertising booking sites. The guests can enjoy beautiful greenery with blooming lotus in the pond in summer. Families with children can enjoy their outdoor pool.
The ninety rooms are available on three floors and are paved with bricks from the famous Thanh Ha pottery village. There is no elevator. The restaurant is next to the lotus pond with a relaxing natural setting.
Our opinion: Not enough variety and the buffet is just ok.
Price: from 50 to 100 USD per night
Hotel Hoi An Chic
Booking is not easy at all for this hotel which with a reduced capacity must respond to a large loyal clientele’s demand.
The 17 cozy rooms of 45m2 to 65m2 are all furnished and decorated with care. The pool is not big enough but overlooks the rice fields. The restaurant is also very close to the fields which provide a nice scenery during the harvest season.
Our opinion: Ideal to relax and recharge because everything is well arranged for the comfort of travelers.
Price: from 90 to 150 USD per night
Hoi An Ancient House Village Resort & Spa, 4 stars
Also located in Cam Thanh village and similar to the Muca Hoi An Boutique Resort, except the Ancient House Village offers superior comfort and welcomes you with its exceptional setting.
The 56 rooms available are decorated in a refined style. In addition to a spacious flower garden, the resort also has a horticultural garden to offer you the cleanest and freshest dishes.
Our opinion: Its intimate and relaxing atmosphere is appreciable and there is a beautiful clean bathtub in each of the rooms.
Price: from 80 to 180 USD per night
Le Belhamy Hoi An Resort and Spa, 4 stars
This hotel is located on Ha My beach which is famous for its discreet beauty. A bus is available to take you to Hoi An ancient town 7km away.
The 140 rooms available all have a large bathroom with shower and bath. The decor is simple and cozy. The luxury villas have a private pool. Breakfast is served in the restaurant which is both inside and outside.
Our opinion: The staff is nice and welcoming. The guests will also love its lush coconut garden that surrounds two large pools complete with a children's area facing the sea.
Price: from 95 to 250 USD per night
Boutique Hotel Hoi An, 4 stars
This hotel with private beach will provide you with a seaside holiday on the best sandy beach of the Cua Dai Sea. Boutique Hotel Hoi An is one of the few resorts whose beach is not exposed to coastal erosion that has seriously affected the Cua Dai Sea in recent years.
Two main types of rooms available:
+ Superior and Deluxe rooms (31m2 interior and 9m2 balcony) with garden view
+ The bungalows (97m2 interior and 31m2 balcony) near the sea with private pool and privacy.
The pool is large and near the sea. The modern style restaurant is spacious, offering a quality buffet with the variable menu every day.
Our opinion: Professional staff but not very friendly.
Price: from 150 to 1000 USD per night
Aira Boutique Hoi An hotel & villa, 3 stars
The hotel is located on the An Bang Beach which is a Hoi An beach known for being less touristy. Aira Boutique Hoi An was used by locals before welcoming holidaymakers. Faced with erosion threats on the coast of Cua Dai, An Bang beach is a destination of choice for a beach holiday.
Sized at 35m2, the 40 comfortable rooms are well equipped in a contemporary style with all kinds of services available.
Our opinion: Its atmosphere is nice and has many choices for couples.
Price: from 75 to 150 USD per night.
