Da Bac district, a part of Hoa Binh province, is a confluence of stunning natural settings and rich, distinctive historical and cultural characteristics that are promoted across various ethnic groups.

Sung Village

Located in Cao Son commune ( Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province), Sung village is an old highland village with a natural space of more than 780 hectares. Nature has endowed this land with spectacular landscapes, composing undulating hills, streams that encircle the village, and mountains enveilled in white clouds. A stunning natural scenery is formed by the curves of the terraced rice fields from the front of the village and the magnificent Bieu mountain from behind. 

According to local elders, Sung village has existed since 500 years ago. In the present time, Sung village is home to 75 Dao Tien ethnic households living mainly on agriculture. In 2017, with the support of a non-government organization called AOP ( Act on Poverty), many families courageously started to participate in a community tourism program. 

Having understood the insights of visitors, many homestay businesses constantly enhance their service quality and offer a greater range of cultural experiences in order to meet diverse preferences. Coming to Sung village, visitors can indulge in Dao’s culture by partaking in activities such as devouring Dao’s cuisine, cultivating rice, fishing, touring tea hills and the famous ancient Shan Tuyet tea, discovering the tea making process in a tea factory, experiencing Dao’s traditional way of dyeing fabric and learning the art of Dao embroidery, … 

Nhat Quy Homestay

Nhat Quy Homestay can accommodate 14 people. In addition to providing lodging, the homestay also offers catering, cultural performances, and other activities in order to help visitors understand the local culture further. The people of the homestay would be delighted to accompany visitors on a tour around the neighborhood or even mountain hiking and cave exploration. 

The homestay is the pride of its two owners- Mr. Nhat and Mrs. Quy. The couple both agree that Da Bac is an excellent destination for international tourists to learn more about Vietnamese culture. Xuan Lan Homestay

The family of Mr. Xuan and Ms. Lan is one of the first households in Sung village to participate in the Da Bac community tourism program. Back in the day, the family made a living mainly from farming, raising cattle, and growing Bodhi tree. The income was low, hence, life was difficult. However, thanks to the homestay business, since 2017, their family income has improved remarkably. With the help of this new source of income, Mr. Xuan and Ms. Lan are now able to ameliorate their living and their children’s education. 

Choosing Xuan Lan homestay, visitors will stay in the traditional houses of the Dao ethnic people and experience the real daily life of the indigenous. 

The houses within the homestay are constructed with palm leaf roofs, wooden walls and tiled flooring. Bamboo is the main material used to make living amenities, giving the space a pleasant and comfortable vibe.

Thanh Chung Homestay

Thanh Chung Homestay lies together with simple thatched-roof houses in its neighborhood, encircled by the verdant forest. Although it has been refurbished and has tiled floors, the house still features the characteristic thatched roof and timber walls of the Dao people’s traditional house. Wood and bamboo are used to make furniture and many other amenities, giving the space a modern yet rustic feel.

The hosts of this homestay, Mr. Thu and Ms. Toan, live with their three children. Whenever visitors come to their home, the couple gives a warm welcome and is always eager to let them experience and understand further about Dao Tien culture.

Da Bia Village 

Da Bia village is located close to the edge of Da River Lake, about 35 kilometers from Da Bac town. This village is home to 40 Muong ethnic households and is an ideal destination for tourists who are eager to explore and experience the lives of Muong Ao Ta people in the most authentic way possible, as it retains intact everything that belongs to nature.  

Quang Tho Homestay

The friendly welcome, genuine hospitality, and dedicated care will make visitors feel at home at Quang Tho Homestay. The homestay, which began operations in January 2016, can accommodate 12 visitors with complete standard equipment, providing them with a pleasant experience in the traditional Muong ethnic people's residence.

Ngoc Nhem Homestay

With its own features ingrained in it, Ngoc Nhem is a well-known homestay in Da Bac. The homestay proposes twelve rooms, each of which is meticulously laid out and adequately supplied. 

The young couple who run the homestay, Mr. Ngoc and Ms.Nhem, share a residence with their parents and their two little ones. The couple has a keen interest in community tourism and intends to sharpen their English language abilities in order to interact with international visitors more and gain insight into other cultures. Dinh Thu Homestay

Dinh Thu Homestay offers visitors a cozy and intimate experience inside the traditional home of the Muong ethnic people. This homestay can house up to 16 people and is completely furnished with standard amenities.

Dinh Thu Homestay family consists of four generations, with Ms. Thu and Mr. Nguyen presently serving as the homestay’s principal hosts. Ever since the couple renovated their home to serve as a homestay, the family has been welcoming many groups of tourists. As a result, the income of the entire family has improved significantly.

Though not a traditional stilt house, Van Hieu Homestay still preserves the cultural features of ít people. The house is constructed according to the architecture of Muong Au Ta stilt houses with a traditional fire stove placed in the middle of the kitchen. 

This homestay in Da Bac can accommodate 10 people with full standard amenities. Mr. Vuong and Ms. Nguyen, the hosts of the homestay, are very friendly and always show hospitality. They would gladly assist visitors and make them feel at home.

Lakeview Homestay

This homestay is encircled by magnificent ranges of mountain. Coming to Lakeview Homestay, visitors will receive affectionate hospitality from the locals and rest in a stilt house constructed entirely of wood, fully furnished with essential living amenities. The assortment of bamboo-made decorations seen throughout the homestay creates an even stronger bond with nature.  

This homestay in Da Bac is well-known for its outdoor dining experiences. A long bamboo table was set up by the homestay’s owner to accommodate huge gatherings of visitors. Ké Village 

Located in a branch of Hoa Binh Lake, Ke village (Hien Luong commune, Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province) is home to 112 Muong ethnic households.  This community tourism destination's allure is derived from its distinctive indigenous cultural traits and breathtaking natural surroundings.

Huu Thao Pacific House

Huu Thao Pacific House boasts an incredible view overlooking a lake. Not just that, the homestay is embraced by lush vegetation, with its back against the mountain and its side facing the lake. During their stay here, visitors will benefit from a nice and restful atmosphere thanks to the fresh air and gentle breezes from the lake. Additionally, next to the area of the homestay sits a year-round-flowing stream. 

The houses are built mainly of wood and glass, with thatched roofs and wooden ceilings. This homestay includes 2 stilt houses (shared accommodation) with a maximum capacity of 15 people, 2 bungalows accommodating 2 people and 7 non-self-contained private houses that can accommodate 2 people.

Meals at Huu Thao Pacific House are always prepared with fresh ingredients. In order to guarantee the healthiness and hygiene of the food, every day the host - Mr. Huu, goes to the market in town early in the morning, regardless of the weather and the distance (more than 20 km in total).

Da Bac Eco-Lodge

Da Bac Eco-Lodge consists of six bungalows, four of which offer direct views of the lake. The two other bungalows are situated in a higher location and overlook the lake as well, albeit not as spectacular. 

The bungalows are comprised of iron frames, thin hardwood panels for the inner walls, and dried bamboo for the exterior. In a comparable manner, the roofs are made of corrugated iron sheets covered with dry leaves. This style of structure provides shelter while maintaining a comparatively eco-friendly appearance. 

In addition to the bungalows, Da Bac-Ecolodge also offers stilt houses designed for large groups from six people. 

The swimming pool of Da Bac ecolodge constitutes its primary draw. The pool occupies a spot in an outdoor area that gives a mesmerizing view of Hoa Binh Lake. The only drawback of the pool is its relatively small dimensions. The swimming pool’s water is directly drawn from the ravine’s subterranean spring source; hence, the pool is always cool and chilly, even at midday in the summer. There is also a heart-shaped children’s swimming pool, a feature that makes this homestay perfect for a family vacation

Sanh Thuan Homestay

Situated on the main road that passes through Ke Village, Sanh Thuan Homestay is another lodging option to take into account when visiting Da Bac. Next to the homestay lies the Ke stream, which keeps the air consistently cool and fresh. To reach this homestay, voyagers can minimize expenses by taking the Hanoi-Hoa Binh Bus.
