At Quang Phu, the sand color shifts throughout the day. In the morning, the dunes gleam with a brilliant white, while at noon, they transform to a golden hue, reminiscent of ripe rice stalks. The fine quality of the sand here makes Quang Phu one of the most beautiful dunes in central Vietnam.

The best time to visit Quang Phu sand dune, combined with exploring mysterious caves and refreshing beaches, is from April to July. During this period, the weather is sunny but not too hot, making it perfect for discovering the enchanting landscapes of Quang Bình.

Phuong Mai sand dune – Binh Dinh

Located around 20 km from Quy Nhon’s city center, Phuong Mai sand dune is on the Phuong Mai Peninsula, right next to Nhon Ly Beach. This area remains largely untouched, featuring a vast, winding terrain. You can visit Phuong Mai sand dune any time of day, as each moment offers a unique perspective. If you prefer to avoid the heat, consider visiting early in the morning or late in the afternoon. This allows you to admire a stunning sunrise or sunset while enjoying the dunes. It’s an experience that feels entirely different from simply gazing at the ocean.

Nam Cuong sand dune – Ninh Thuan

Nam Cuong Sand Dune features a unique system of sandy hills, with steep slopes and intricate formations. The sand here is fine, soft, and white—not coastal sand, but river sand from mountainous areas. The bright white dunes under the radiant sun create an awe-inspiring landscape.

Beyond its stunning scenery, Nam Cuong is also ideal for a range of recreational activities. Visitors can enjoy sand play, sliding down slopes, or trying exciting activities like sand biking, climbing, sandboarding, and even paragliding.

One of the best times to visit Nam Cuong sand dune is at dawn. As the first rays of sunlight spread slowly over the golden sand, layers of color emerge, shifting from light to dark before turning to a soft orange hue—creating a truly unique spectacle. The dunes take on varied shapes: some are perfectly straight, others rise majestically, while some form graceful, captivating curves.

Mui Dinh sand dune – Ninh Thuan

To reach Mui Dinh sand dune, start from the center of Phan Rang Thap Cham and take Route 16/4 towards Binh Son Beach. Turn right onto Yen Ninh Coastal Road and follow Provincial Road 701 for about 30 km to Mui Dinh in Phuoc Dinh commune, Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan province.

On the way, you’ll pass through wind farms and solar fields, where the peaceful, untamed surroundings contrast with more crowded tourist destinations. This serene area is a fantastic escape to soak in the tropical climate and explore semi-arid dunes, a favorite among adventure enthusiasts. One of the most thrilling activities here is taking a Jeep, tractor, or buggy ride across the vast stretches of white, fine sand. Many visitors agree that experiencing Mui Dinh’s raw beauty in this way is a must, often describing it as a true "hidden gem" of Ninh Thuan.

Son Hai sand dune – Ninh Thuan

Located in the village of Son Hai, Phuoc Dinh in Thuan Nam district, around 30 km south of Phan Rang Thap Cham, Son Hai sand dune is easy to reach. Start from Binh Son Beach Park, cross the An Dong bridge, and continue straight until you see the expansive dunes, bordered by palm trees. Just a 1 km motorbike ride onward, visitors will find the vast dune that extends all the way to the fishing village of Son Hai. With dunes rising over 10 meters high, the wind constantly shifts the sand, erasing visitors' footprints and giving the sensation of walking through a desert.

Son Hai’s unique allure comes from its majestic landscapes, the vivid blue sky, and its proximity to the sea. Amidst desert-like heat, the dunes captivate tourists with pools of water that form in various shapes—hearts, hexagons, circles—with mesmerizing hues of soft green and turquoise, resembling giant footprints. These pools are fed by underground springs and small streams from the nearby mountains. From afar, the dunes appear like a delicate fabric, shifting gracefully in the wind. Come and discover the awe-inspiring wild beauty of Son Hai and Mui Dinh sand dunes, where you’ll be enchanted by nature in its purest form.

Bau Trang sand dune – Binh Thuan

The Bau Trang Sand Dune, also known as the White Sand Dune of Mui Ne, is one of the most iconic tourist destinations in Phan Thiet. This “White Dune of Mui Ne” symbolizes the region and draws both local and international visitors in large numbers.

What particularly attracts tourists to Bau Trang is the sand’s unique color. According to local legends, the sand was originally yellow but gradually transformed into its brilliant white hue over time and changing seasons. If you're looking for a tranquil escape to immerse yourself in Vietnam's raw beauty, Bau Trang is an ideal destination.
