The weather given for Siem Reap is valid for all of Cambodia except for the Mondolkiri region which benefits from a more temperate climate due to its altitude. There are three seasons in Cambodia.
Getting around Siem Reap
As a city still on a medium scale, it is easy to get around the city center on foot. For longer trips, such as visiting the fabulous temples of Angkor, we advise you to do as the locals do by using a tuk-tuk or motorbike taxi. Fix the price in advance with the driver. The prices are quite reasonable and will depend on your negotiation. To get to the airport, you can use conventional taxis.
Money
The American dollar is widely accepted as currency throughout the country. Small change is often given in riel, the national currency. Please keep it for tips and other small daily purchases. You will find ATMs everywhere in the city that only issue dollars. The exchange offices are concentrated on the famous Pub Street.
Health
As in the whole country, we advise you not to drink tap water during your stay in Cambodia. On the other hand, no problem with ice cubes which are made in reliable factories. You will find pharmacies almost everywhere in the city. No prescription is needed to buy medicines. Be careful, fake medicines are not uncommon.
In case of health problems, we advise you to go to the Royal Angkor International Hospital, the best hospital in the city, with an emergency department and doctors experienced in treating foreign patients.

Security
Siem Reap is a relatively safe city, however, stay vigilant as in any large city and take the usual precautions such as not showing off money and jewelry too ostentatiously so as not to tempt the little thugs. The main problems you might encounter are with foreigners who tend to abuse alcohol in the aptly named Pub Street.

Internet and mobile phone access
For only $5, you can get a sim card with a local phone number and internet access from your mobile. Recommended providers are Cellcard and Smart. Both have special 30-day tourist packages.
Shopping in Siem Reap
As the artistic capital of Cambodia, Siem Reap City is home to a large community of skilled artisans who provide many shops where you can buy their items.
