How to get to Tu Le?

From Hanoi

By car or taxi: With a distance of 280 kilometers, travel time by car from Hanoi to Tu Le takes about 6 hours.

By train: To get to Yen Bai from Hanoi by train, you will depart from Hanoi Train Station and get down at Yen Bai Train Station, which takes about 4 hours. From Yen Bai Train Station, continue your way to Tu Le by taxi or moto taxi.

From Sapa

To reach Tu Le from Sapa, it’s advisable to opt for a private car, which takes about 4 hours. You can also travel to Tu Le from Sapa by local bus; however, with a long distance of 180 kilometers, we recommend a private car for optimal comfort.

Best time to visit Tu Le

You can visit Tu Le either during the planting season or the harvest season, which occur respectively from April to May and from September to October. During the planting season, also known as the water pouring season, farmers flood their fields with water, transforming them into giant shimmering mirrors that reflect the clear sky. And when the harvest season arrives, a brilliant golden hue paints the landscapes, creating an awe-inspiring and iconic backdrop for the region.
