Day 01 : Saigon ( Ho Chi Minh city) – arrival (-/-/D)
Our Authentik Travel’s tour guide and driver will welcome you at airport and transfer to Hotel in the city center.
Get some first briefing information about our country and enjoy a welcome dinner in a finest local restaurant.
Overnight in Saigon.
Day 02 : Saigon city Tour (B/-/-)
After your breakfast, Enjoy a full day Saigon city tour.
Visit the Reunification palace (or the war memorials Museum), the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office inspired by the Orsay Station in Paris.
Then transfer to Cho Lon District to discover its old quarter, the wholesale Binh Tay Market and Quan Am pagoda a colorful pagoda and one of the oldest pagodas in the city, its architecture and decorations have still remained since its construction.
Return to Saigon city for a walk in the city center, the former Catinat streets, exterior of Opera house, the city hall as well as Ben Thanh market.
Overnight in Saigon.
Day 03 : Saigon – Ben Tre (B/L/D)
Our tour guide and driver welcome you at your hotel for transfer to Ben Tre – a beautiful region in the Mekong Delta River, famous for making coconut candy.
Arrive in Hung Vuong pier; get on a boat trip on the Ben Tre River to discover the daily local life.
Stop to visit the brick kiln of Mr Tu Lo and discover the craft methods of making bricks.
Then visit the coconut factory, meeting Mr Vo Van Ba. He is passionate about traditional music; he spent all his life in making and collections of fifty folk instruments, attending a show to appreciate his passion.
Continue our boat trip on a canal to Nhon Thanh Village. This will be an opportunity to taste the fresh fruits.
Take a bike ride (or Tuk tuk) on a small path through the villages; enjoy watching the coconut ranges, rice fields and vegetable gardens. Lunch is served in the village with Elephant fish ear.
A short walk will help you to discover the local life in depth. Followed by a boat ride on the small canal shaded by the wild palm trees.
For those who wish to ride bike: ride a bike to Mr Sau Khanh’s house to admire his ancient objects collections then continue through the rice fields. Meet the peasants and you could join in their works.
Transfer back to the village where you would spend a night in homestay.
Later afternoon, you could be possible to prepare dinner with the hosts.
Dinner and overnight in Ben Tre.
Day 04 : Ben Tre – Cho Lach – Tra Vinh (B/L/D)
After breakfast, Transfer to Cho Lach and Tra Vinh with a stop to visit Bonsai garden on the way. Cross the Mekong River by Ferry. Arrive in Cau Ke villages of Khmer people. It belongs to Tra Vinh province. Check in the homestay.
Lunch is served in homestay and enjoy bike ride through Ba Mi village. Visit the surrounding area and meet the local farmers who work on the garden (vegetable garden or fruits garden). This is an opportunity to approach the local life and the hospitality of the people in this region. Continue to visit the cathedral and Ba Mi School.( closed in Summer holiday).
End of your biking by a visit to Khmer pagoda before return to homestay for your refreshment.
Enjoy dinner and overnight at Sounsia homestay.
(Note: there are 1-2 motorbikes for those who could not ride bike)
Day 05 : Tra Vinh – Sa Dec – Long Xuyen (B/L/-)
Breakfast at homestay. Take bide ride through the nursery fields. Continue to visit some Khmer villages: Canh Dai, Tra Khao, Giong Lon…then departure by car to Huynh Ky family house, dated back at the beginning the 20 century which preserved a mixture of oriental and western architecture.
Transfer to Long Xuyen via Sa Dec where we could visit Kien An Cung pagoda, visit the Huynh Thuy Le house in the novel by Marguerite Duras “ L’Amant – the Lover”, Discover the local market in Sa Dec which is rich in fruits, vegetable, and fishes.
Continue to Long Xuyen, visit Cao Dai temple on route and a crocodile farm.
Overnight at Hotel in Long Xuyen.
Day 06 : Long Xuyen – Chau Doc (B/L/-)
In the morning, we will transfer to visit the floating market and floating village in Long Xuyen which are animated and authentic on a small Mekong River.
We discover the daily activities of people living by the river.
Enjoy a boat trip to Cu Lao Ong Ho where there is a small museum about our president Ton Duc Thang.
After that, back to our car for a transfer to Chau Doc. On arrival, visit Chau Doc Market and enjoy a boat trip to floating fish village and Cham island village.
Transfer to discover Sam Mountain (287m) with colorful temples and Pagodas: Xu Lady Pagoda, Thoai Ngoc Hau temple, Tay An pagoda. Possible to walk up to the top of mountain or motorbike taxi (40 000 VND/pp at your expense) to enjoy the awesome sunset over the border between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Overnight at Hotel in Chau Doc.
Day 07 : Chau Doc – Tra Su – Chua Hang – Ha Tien (B)
Enjoy breakfast at hotel and transfer to Tra Su reserve, an exceptional biodiversity with typical indigo forest.
This is also a famous bird park, known for variety of species.
Continue to Ha Tien along the border road between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Arrive in a small beach in Kien Giang, stop to visit Chua Hang pagoda and the ancient fairy rocks which symbolize of Ha Tien named “ Phu Tu” ( father and son) the father rock was already fallen into the sea few years ago.
Continue to Ha Tien. Check in hotel.
If time permits: visit Mac Cuu temple dedicated to a governor of the region in the 18th century
Then to Thanh Van Cave.
Overnight in Ha Tien.
Day 08 : Ha Tien – Can Tho (B/-/-)
After breakfast, keep driving to Can Tho.
On the way, enjoy the beauty of rice field in the Mekong Delta River and meet the local people working in the fields. Stop to capture the idyllic countryside landscapes.
Arrive in Can Tho, check in hotel and relax.
Overnight in Can Tho.
Day 09 : Can Tho – Saigon (B/-/-)
Breakfast at hotel and transfer to the pier for a boat trip to visit Cai Rang floating market, a largest and lively marking in Mekong Delta.
There are so colorful and many smells in the bubbling atmosphere where hundreds of sampans are filled with goods such as rice, fruits, and craft products …all is shown to sell from the early morning.
We leave the market and continue the boat trip through the canals and visit a fruit gardens (or replace the garden by the nursery field by the river)
Transfer to Saigon in the afternoon.
Overnight at hotel in Saigon.
Day 10 : Saigon – Departure (B/-/-)
Enjoy your last minutes in the most vibrant city in Vietnam before transfer to airport for your flight to next destination or flight home.
